Welcome to this Woodland Garden where Rhododendrons have been introduced as the main exotic plant. Complemented by Azaleas. Mollis Azaleas and many deciduous trees.

This project is under the control of the Blue Mountains Rhododendron Society and is for the study and growing of many hundreds of varieties and species of the really beautiful Rhododendron.

You are invited to enjoy the many lovely walks and the amenities available, and we look forward to your donation in the box provided near the parking area as this project is maintained from the money visitors donate and the members. subscriptions as well as the support of many fine citizens and local Clubs and Societies. Please protect our Garden and native Flora and Fauna by being tidy and keeping to the walking tracks.

In this 18½ ha (45 acre) site, areas of native flora will be preserved. In the main valley an attractive lake and 5 pools have been constructed. The lovely walks amid the peaceful surroundings will delight the lover of the bushland, where masses of Azaleas and Rhododendrons and many lovely ornamental trees have been introduced to blend with the woodland setting. The development of this project is mainly carried out by voluntary work and with the financial assistance of various local organisations and Festivals as well as the very many fine citizens who have so generously supported this Garden.

The purpose of the Garden is to educate members of the public and interested groups who wish to delve more deeply into the Genus Rhododendron, and to conserve the natural features of the area for the pleasure of visitors and to encourage tourists to enjoy the beauty of the garden.

A feature of the Garden is the beautiful Natural Fern Glades and the abundance of Native Flora which we proudly protect for future generations to enjoy - please help us to preserve it.

Visitors to the Garden are reminded that the flowering season for Rhododendrons is September, October and November but the peak period is the end of October and early November. Mollis Azaleas are a special feature at this time as well.

The Garden is a delight in Autumn when so many deciduous trees look their best during April. The latest project is the planting of a Conifer Garden, and although it is in the early stages of development, a walk to this area is suggested.

We ask you to abide by the rules of the Garden Committee and that you appreciate the fact that all work is voluntary by members of the Society.

  • Bicycles, motor bikes and horses are not to be ridden beyond the car park area.
  • Lighting of fires is strictly prohibited.
  • Dogs brought into the Garden must he under strict control and not allowed to run through planted areas.
  • We do ask that children be enlightened by their parents or guardians that they may enjoy the area and use the many walking tracks but please do NOT consider the garden as playing area with ball games, etc. valuable trees and plants are so easily damaged.

Thanking you for co-operation

The gates are open at 9.00 am and closed at 5.00pm.
